Sharon Smith, Registered Yoga Teacher
It was curiosity that initially brought Sharon to her yoga mat in 1999. What kept her returning to her mat was the unconditional and welcoming acceptance of her yoga practice and yoga community. She decided to take yoga teacher training when life allowed, so she could share her love of yoga with others.
Sharon is an E-RYT200 and RYT-500 and holds the following certifications in Yoga:
200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training (East Eagle Yoga, Havertown, PA).
100 Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training (Sally Miller, Yoga Garden, Narberth, PA).
300 Hour Advanced Teacher Training (Mark Nelson and Nikki Robinson, Yoga Garden, Narberth, PA).
Sharon's goal for all her students is that they feel calmer, quieter and more relaxed in body and mind after each session. She named her yoga practice after the Anahata (Heart) Chakra, which symbolizes the balance, compassion and acceptance yoga has brought to her own life.
When Sharon's not teaching yoga, practicing yoga or in yoga teacher training, she can be found soaking up time with her husband and three beautiful children.
A Note from Sharon....
Yoga practice should contribute to a balanced mind state. During physical (asana) yoga postures, the breath (pranayama) replaces the thinking "busy" mind. The use of diaphragmatic breathing naturally triggers a relaxation response so body and mind become calmer.
Over time, with consistent and correct practice, yoga will help boost energy, relieve anxiety, improve circulatory system, strengthen immune system, help digestion and keep you centered and grounded. All the while, your physical (asana) practice will grow as your whole body progresses in strength, endurance and flexibility.
Each session is ended with Shavasana (relaxation) and Meditation, which allows your body to absorb all the benefits of the practice.
Call or email me with any questions and we can discuss your particular needs and goals so that you can reap the endless benefits of yoga.
Start or continue on your journey to a life filled with the peace and joy that a balanced mind and body will bring you.
